Metrology theory training seminar: two levels


Level 1 - Introduction (Roundness/Surface)

This seminar would be ideal for attendees with little or limited knowledge of metrology theory. 

The information gained would help understand the best practices for characterising a measurement result, accurately and reliably.

Ideal for instrument operators, design engineers and metrology managers. 

Level 2 - Advanced (Roundness/Surface)

A great addition to our basic metrology course, or for those with a previous knowledge of metrology theory. 

The seminar will reinforce the attendee’s current knowledge and will allow them to understand basic measurement uncertainty and reliability.

Ideal for advanced instrument operators, programmers and metrology managers with experience of using Taylor Hobson instruments.

  • Basic compliance with ISO measurement standards.
  • Result parameters and presentation or results.
  • Data filter types and their correct use for specific applications.

  • Surface finish technical drawing terminology and symbols.
  • Bearing area and Rk analysis*.
  • Topographical (3D) surface finish analysis*.
  • Advanced customer application specific analysis*.
